It's Good to Know a Fisherman

Good friends to have:
1.  A lawyer
2.  A doctor or nurse
3.  A teacher (we have lots of those)
4.  A police or fireman
5.  Someone who owns a sno-cone stand
6.  A handy-man
7.  A fisherman

Luckily, we know a guy who likes to fish.
Oh yeah, and he likes to fish in ALASKA.
Know what kind of fish they have in Alaska?

Salmon.

The really hot-pink gorgeous kind of salmon.

So what goes with salmon?  Black eyed peas and green beans of course!

I got the black-eyed pea recipe from Skinnytaste! (where else?)  They were delicious and super easy in the slow cooker.  You should try them.

Like right now.

No, really.  Now.  They'll be ready in only 6 hours or so.

On to the salmon.  If you can't go to Alaska for any wild fishes like our friend, I bet you can find some good-lookin' salmon (or any firm fish) in the store.
We put a little garlic powder, cayenne, fish and seafood seasoning, salt and pepper on the salmon filets.
Put each filet on a piece of foil and sprinkle a little olive oil on the top...maybe a little squeeze of lemon juice would be tasty too.

Wrap up the foil real tight and put on a sheet pan.  Like a mini-steam oven.
Bake the fish at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes until it's cooked through.

Unwrap like an early Christmas present.
